Windows Mobile Getting a Flash

Windows Mobile

Even though Apple may think the Flash Player is not good enough for the iPhone, Windows seems to think it will work out just fine. Last week, Microsoft announced they will be distributing Flash Lite and Reader software in their future releases of Windows Mobile-based cellular phones. Flash Lite and Flash Reader will now give Windows Mobile users the ability to view Flash-based web pages along with PDF documents through their mobile browsers.

The Flash Player has been something the Apple iPhone has been lacking since its debut. Recently, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has alluded to the fact that there is no Flash Player in sight either. Flash is the premier video content provider over the Internet. Sites such as YouTube utilize Flash technology to display video content. Microsoft’s recent announcement will definitely send a message to Apple that Flash will become part of the mobile industry one way or another.
