Adobe Air Launches

By Nathan Cowen

On February 25, 2008 Adobe launched its first version of AIR. AIR is a desktop application that uses HTML, AJAX, FLEX and Adobe Flash to deliver content on a userís desktop. Content can be developed for AIR using a simple text editor. The benefit is that one download can be used on multiple platforms such as Windows, Mac or Linux. The software allows users to have content that will run on their computer when they are not connected to the Internet. This content can then be updated when an Internet connection is found. The program can be downloaded for free through Adobeís website and additional content can be downloaded to make Adobeís Deamweaver capable of creating content for AIR.
